This NBA Player Quit the Team to Start a Home Bakery
Would you quit your multi-million dollar career to bake brownies at home? This NBA player did. “I just realized what was important in life.” says ex-NBA player. “All I want to do now is bake in the kitchen with my ladies.” referring to his wife Elena and his daughter Evelyn. “Things really got put into perspective in my last game when I realized this is just a game. A really over glorified game.” remarked D-White Howie a now ex-NBA player turned home baker.
His resignation came at a time when his contract was about to be re-signed to add an additional 6 million dollars to his already 9 million dollar contract, totaling a 15 million dollar loss for his career this year. “By not accepting his re-sign and by bailing on us mid season I don’t think he will ever play again.” said coach Jim Haverty of the Houston Rockettes
Speculation has been made that D-White Howie may be suffering from a mid-career crisis. Although now that he has quit the team it unlikely he has any chance of playing basketball professionally ever again. When asked if he regretted his decisions Howie said “I was fortuned to get out when I did.” He also says he and his 7 year old daughter are starting a new home baking business and his hopes are high.
